OceanSky has been chosen as a ClimateForce Global Ambassador
29 January, Stockholm,
OceanSky is proud to announce that the OceanSky team has been chosen as ClimateForce Global Ambassador. OceanSky is planning a pioneering expedition to the North Pole as the first hybrid aircraft, to ever land on the North Pole. Read more about this unique adventure:
The Climateforce 2041 Foundation was founded by polar explorer and environmentalist Robert Swan, OBE (Order of the British Empire), the first person to walk to both the North and South Poles. Swan has dedicated his life to the preservation of Antarctica through the promotion of recycling, renewable energy and sustainability to combat the effects of climate change. It was Swan’s original expedition to the South Pole that was the inspiration for 2041, an organization he founded and dedicated to the preservation of the polar regions. The name of the Foundation orients us to the not-so-distant future in which the international treaties committing the world’s nations to the preservation of Antarctica come up for renegotiation.
Robert Swan, said, "ClimateForce is a way of giving people the chance to effect change on both a small and big level. Our mission is to save 360 million tons of C02 over the next 7 years. This project is driven by my son Barney Swan and supported by myself and I'm very glad to have OceanSky as a part of it. I’ve looked very carefully through the list of over 4,000 alumni and selected Carl-Oscar Lawaczeck, as one of only 22 people from 20 countries to be a 2019 ClimateForce Global Ambassador. Carl-Oscar and OceanSky have really shown me what it means to be a champion for the planet!"
Carl-Oscar Lawaczeck, Founder CEO OceanSky, said, "I'm so glad and proud to be a part of the ClimateForce initiative. First time I spoke to Robert Swan I was amazed by his energy and drive to change and improve our planet. Robert Swan is a force of nature himself and OceanSky look forward to working with him and his son, Barney Swan, the coming years. We are proud to have him listed as Expedition Leader and part of our crew. We have some exciting news with Robert Swan coming very soon, so be sure to stay tuned via our newsletter and check out our website www.oceanskycruises.com"
Robert Swan, said, "I am thrilled to be a part of this project as an expedition leader. Arctic Nature is a passion and I love to teach about safety, wildlife, and survival in the Arctic climate. The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it. Finding new alternative ways of travel is important for our future."
